MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND CO. — An organization in Northumberland County is bringing the community together to help others in need throughout the winter season.
Hundreds of coats and blankets were collected over the past few weeks by the Mount Carmel Area Community Center and today were given out those in the community ranging from kids to adults.
“It’s a very humbling day,” said volunteer Mary Sosky. “Giving coats to needy families really makes you step back and realize how lucky you are to have what you have.”
